Shanta’ Robinson
SECRETARY
Shanta’ Robinson is a trailblazer in dance education, an accomplished choreographer and performer, and a dedicated mentor to the next generation of dancers and educators. With over 20 years of experience in performance, choreography, and education, she has built a career rooted in excellence, innovation, and advocacy. She understands firsthand the transformative power of dance—not just as an art form, but as a vehicle for empowerment, self-expression, and opportunity. Shanta’ brings with her a bold vision for the future of dance education—one that prioritizes teacher sustainability, curriculum innovation, and accessibility for all students. But beyond her professional achievements, Shanta’ is also a dedicated and loving mother, a role that has further deepened her understanding of the importance of education, mentorship, and work-life balance. She knows what it means to juggle responsibilities, advocate for resources, and fight for the success of those she teaches and leads. That perspective makes her a powerful voice for dance educators who give so much to their students yet often lack the support they need to thrive. Shanta’ is running for this leadership position because she believes that dance educators are the foundation of this field. If teachers are not supported, dance education cannot flourish. If dance programs do not have the funding, infrastructure, and resources they need, students miss out on life-changing opportunities. And if dance educators do not have a seat at the table in shaping the policies that govern this field, the future of dance education is left in the hands of those who may not fully understand its significance. Shanta’ is a graduate of Performing Arts at Saint Mary’s College of California, and UC Davis where she has a certificate in Funding and Development. For the past four years, she has built and elevated a thriving dance program at her current school, creating a comprehensive curriculum that serves students of all levels.
